Just give it a listen- see if you can relate, and see why I would (shall I count the reasons…?).  This is one super clean track off Yelawolf’s newest mixtape Heart of Dixie (available fo’ free: http://www.livemixtapes.com/mixtapes/17810/yelawolf_m16_heart_of_dixie.html) and it’s definitely worth a bleed.  Enjoy!

If you missed THE BEST gym album of 2010, let me remind of the sound.  After delving into a mediocre mixtape from Waka and Gucci Mane, i have come forth with a serious banger (banger = sounds about 23X better when the decibels are all the way up).  Put this in the appropriate playlist and hit go when you’re in need of an aural red bull.

Staying on that hyphy down south vibe, enjoy this ode to Yelawolf’s roots with an assist from the one and only chainsaw king, Lil’ Jon.  Look for this track on the forthcoming Shady Records release slated for 9/27, Radioactive. Can’t wait.

More Essentials…

Since its comin from the Bay, i had to share a joint that is sure to soothe my fellow NorCal residents.  Many people arent familiar with Zion I but he offers a pleasant assessment of the turf that  has won so many hearts, for so many different reasons.  Check him (and us) 0ut.

I’ve been patiently waiting and it has arrived.  Yelawolf has dropped his LP, Trunk Muzik 0-60, and while the track set considerably overlaps his Trunk Muzik mixtape, he very much still brings that heat.  In deliberating what it is about this sound that makes it so essential, i’ve concluded that its a perfect compilation of hard, heavy and fast beats with a flow that matches.  His vocals, not quite a whisper, not all the way announced, just linger on the beat.  On Daddy’s Lambo he teamed up w/Drama from the Fantasy Factory (everybody’s favorite sb kid’s whipping boy).  Enjoy the #1 banger.  I expect it to be in heavy rotation nationally… for what thats worth.

Another throw back, but i insist on making sure the concern is addressed: where have you gone Three Stacks? ‘Kast has made so much enchanted music that it shall never tire;  as a duo Andre 3000 and Big Boi seemed to be the perfect balance, the yin and the yang. Example: the single Can’t Wait- Andre’s delivery and conent are in pure form, and if you appreciate beautiful women, the video is quite a treat, a real compilation of beauties.  And of course Big Boi’s verse just so happens to go very hard, you just have to wait for it…

In order to diversify this post, please enjoy a great product from Butterfly Bones.  The trio from San Frandi$co is garnering a bunch of deserved attention for their latest effort Pretty Feelings.  Take a listen, it’s good.

my very first… again.

(Initial post 8.2.10) I’ve been dying to get this off my chest- Yelawolf. I cannot get enough of this guy. First, Trunk Muzik is the album and it couldn’t be more accurate. Why isnt there more trunk music created? You know what Im talking about here- when the beat hits you wish you had a box and an 800 watt amp pumping- just for that track (or album in this case) ‘cause you know it wont be 2 nights in SF before you find your window broken into pieces all over the sidewalk and said sound system relocated elsewhere.
Yela has recently been reported to have signed with Interscope and is sure to blow. He has a dynamic flow and his heart is in it- the reason first major albums are so impactful. the quality of sound is apparent. Peep single one: Yelawolf spits that hot fire and Bun B is not to be outdone.

Number 2- My Box Chevy Part 3. Take it in- but I truly recommend allowing this album to do what it does- bang out. Buy the album, put it through some large speakers and let the bass knock.

While we’re down peepin 3rd coast game, throw this banger in your playlist. Big K.R.I.T. recently dropped a free (and self produced) album online, K.R.I.T. Wuz Here. Now signed to Def Jam, I expect big things from the subtly soulful cat from the M-I crooked letter crooked letter… you know the rest. This remix features a new favorite by the name of Yela. Goes hard.

On a whole notha otha vibe, this is a piece that I can hear repeatedly without any interruptions (my roommate doesn’t love the repeat like I do). The much anticipated and reportedly contentious collaboration brings us a small piece of wondrous agony w/vocals by Jason Lytle. See the album because it’s a novel piece of work in this oft familiar world. Enjoy, and remember- music isnt supposed to make us feel happy, its just supposed to make us feel.
